UMSA_Lviv is the Lviv representation of the Ukrainian Medical Students’ Association (UMSA), the largest unity of medical students in Ukraine. UMSA is an organization the core values of which envisage the high-quality medical education, equality of opportunities for students and advocacy of their rights, as well as constant personal and professional development. UMSA is the rightful member of the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA) with more than 130 countries-members. As the result, the professional and scientific exchange programs for medical students in numerous countries of the world became an integral part of the UMSA activity. Yearly around 130 students from all over the country, including 15 students from UMSA_Lviv, pass internship in the best clinics of the world with the aim of bringing the gained experience back to Ukraine and realizing it here. My name is Marichka, I am a 5th year student. Thanks to UMSA, I have received an opportunity to take part in scientific exchange to Croatia. The difference between the scientific exchange from the professional one is that during one month I will be working in laboratory on the project topic which I will choose. I decided to opt for the scientific exchange because I consider that science is tightly connected with medical activity. In Ukraine my contribution to the scientific paper is data analysis and statistical calculation, that is why I look forward to my exchange, where I will be able to observe and participate in each stage of the research.
My name is Kryzhanivska Khrystyna and I am probably the biggest fan of medicine you have ever met. In summer I will have an opportunity to pass internship in Montenegro. I am convinced, that such opportunities are highly needed by the modern Ukrainian youth, especially by medical professionals. They inspire self-growth, desire to reach European standards, adopt the experience of foreign colleagues and realize them in Ukraine. Because the motivated youth is the basis of the bright future of the state.

My name is Kateryna, I am a 5th year student. Of all academic disciplines I am most interested in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Because assisting women in giving birth to healthy children has always inspired me. That is why, I wish to acquire as much theoretical knowledge and practical skills as possible in order to provide professional and high-quality assistance. I hope that my summer internship in one of the Bulgarian clinics will allow me to adopt the experience and knowledge from my foreign colleagues, so as to later introduce the innovative techniques in Ukrainian clinics.

My name is Viktoriia Kuts-Karpenko, I am on my 5th year of studies and I am a part of the powerful students’ association, i.e. UMSA.
This will be my first experience of exchange under the Association program. And I have a unique opportunity to receive it in the hospital in Indonesia under the supervision of the team of neurosurgeons. I reckon, that the program gives an opportunity to get the direct insight into the work in the professional environment and gain such desired experience.
